So I tried updating my car today from v28 to v33. I follow the update procedures to key. Nothing happens and it just says no update is available after searching for updates on my usb. Any ideas?
Your flash drive needs to be fat32 formatted, and the files need to be coppied over from a windows computer. Don't ask why, because mazda.

@tserman: I just changed the part of the line from false to true in my virtual environment on my pc. "Pandora" is visible after this change.

To verify that my virtual environment has the same behavior as the JCI system, I deleted a "," in the systemApp.js and reloaded the interface. After that, the interface runs into a timeout. I think it is the same timeout which causes the reboot loop on the JCI.

In my opinion it should work when you change the "false" into "true". But maybe there is another mechanism which locate the position of your car and disable Pandora again if the position is not in the U.S. And I haven't test it in my car, only in my virtual environment!

@JasMan thanks. Do you think modifying the region settings to US will resolve the time out issue? i'm interested in how you setup the virtual environment, any link or references i could follow to setup my own? I could safely do expirenmentation if i do have it also. I was wondering if I could do this in my existing virtual environment in QNAP Virtualization station.

As promised you can find the video.
Firstly I want to say that it's not my job. A man who I did not personally know, but I think that sooner or later he will read this message. Respect him and many thanks. Being able to do this and to show, at least in what direction you move.
Problem in Mazda_FEUR_NQ_2013_Q4.lyc
Here's the video:

I'm sorry, but it's not my job.
I don't know how the author changes the content file.
If the author wants he will tell how to do it. I just got permission to announce and test the functionality.
Any news about how to edit Mazda_FEUR_NQ_2013_Q4.lyc???

@dragger29: This service is not available here in Germany. If I try to visit the Pandora website, the following message is shown:

"...Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative. ...."

@tserman: I think there is a initial setup for the system, which is run by the dealer before he sales the car. And this setup define the region. So in my opinion the region settings in the JCI GUI will have no effect.
Instruction for virtual env.

The disclaimer appears only when you try to open Pandora outside US, Pandora uses IP geolocation check. If your WAN IP does not fall into US IP assigned range you will get the disclaimer and will never get past it. To overcome this, you need to use VPN preferably US head-end servers.

If you are still interested to simulate this, you can tehter to your VPN connected phone (VPN head-end = US based). I use HMA VPN and there is trial period for a few days if you want to give it a try. You need to install Pandora to your phone also. If iPhone user, this can be done by creating Apple account without credit card details and selecting region as US, login using this account and Pandora should now be available in AppStore.

I agree it has nothing to do with regional settings, theoretically it should work. Mazda connects via bluetooth to your Internet connected phone so if your phone can access Pandora then Mazda should have no issues playing Pandora, just like the way it plays Stitcher and Aha.

Thanks for the link. I will give it a try.

32GB USB Drive (28.8 GB), FAT32 (Default), Default Allocation Size. Using Quick Format on a Windows 8 PC. With the cmu140_NA_33.00.500A_failsafe.up and cmu140_NA_33.00.500A_reinstall.up moved to the USB Drive.

This is what I did the first time and I tried again with no luck.

Try re-downloading the files? Also maybe give the flash drive a name? I don't know if that would effect it. Our cars are extraordinarily picky when it comes to how the flash drive is configured. You just have to keep trying different formats and configs till one works.

U.S NAVI Card data, I need.

Hi everyone.

I succeeded in changing NNG Navi language of Japanese.
ex) Japanese to U.K English ,Spanish ,Rosian ,Suomi and more.
But I have not US English data in my NNG Navi SD.

So , Can you guys upload the 4 files that name to write below.

NorthAmerica_NNG_SDcard/content/voice/[Voice_TTS-nua-enu-us-lua.zip] and [Voice_TTS-nua-enu-us-lua.zip.sgn]
NorthAmerica_NNG_SDcard/content/lang/[Lang_English-us.zip] and [Lang_English-us.zip.sgn]

My friend needs U.S English.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if it possible, but in Europe the 'Radar Cruise Control' is only available in the 165HP 2.0L gas version. Sadly that all got a little too expensive for me, but I could guess that this feature is just an enable/disable in the infotainment. There is some sort of radar detection, I do have the 'Automatic Emergency Braking Assist' and the 'Blind Spot Alarm'.

Has anyone seen something like that come along in their USA/Japanese version? It would be great to find that somewhere :)

these can be enabled on all versions as long as your car actually has the hardware. I think you guys need hardware for 'Blind Spot Alarm'.

I disabled 'Automatic Emergency Braking Assist on mine after it started to slow me down, it goes off at times when it is totally safe. It worked like it should of once. However if I gunned it It was just as safe. If your a new driver not used to dangers I think it is worth having.

I would like this enabled if its not
The Emergency Signal System (ESS)

also a menu to enable or disable The Dynamic Stability Control system (DSC) would be nice.

Where did you disable this feature? This might also be the place for me to start looking to enable it :)

Hi, I'm also happy new owner of Mazda 3 from the beginning of April.
As an IT person, I could not resist accessing the infotainment system.
I can confirm, that ASIX USB-LAN adapter Works well:

It must be connected to the lower USB port of the two.

Thanks to everyone dev'ing on CMU.
Finally got around to getting my adapter (J5 Create from BestBuy works)
and got my animated gif background working.

Novelty wore off in about 30 seconds though, as transitions seemed to lag between screens...
So I went back to a static image.

Hoping someone creates a menu for playing videos off USB.

At least my background doesn't look like a crappy wisp of smoke anymore.
